Klara Christen

Klara Christen was born in Zimbabwe in 1994, and grew up in the small town of Marondera. She completed her primary and secondary schooling in Zimbabwe, and then moved to South Africa in 2013 to study Fine Art at Rhodes University – where she studied painting under Tanya Poole. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Art degree, with distinction in Fine Art Practice, in 2016, but remained at Rhodes University in 2017, to complete a major in Psychology. Klara moved back to Zimbabwe at the end of 2017, where she currently lives and works – both as a primary school Art Teacher, and practising artist. She works primarily with oils; her preferred subject matter is landscapes, which she paints in an abstract manner.
