Resided in SA from 1935. A painter of landscapes, seascapes, still life, figures and abstract pictures. Worked in oil. A number of portrait busts in bronze, including those of the late King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1947 and Dr HF Verwoerd in 1960.

Resided in SA from 1935. A painter of landscapes, seascapes, still life, figures and abstract pictures. Worked in oil. A number of portrait busts in bronze, including those of the late King George VI and Queen Elizabeth in 1947 and Dr HF Verwoerd in 1960.
Studies: One year at the Royal Academy, Rotterdam, under Koos den Harto; Natal Technical College, under Merlyn Evans and Nils Andersen; briefly under Ernest Ullmann in Johannesburg and at the Witwatersrand Technical College, under Eric Byrd; Regent Street Polytechnic, London, under Harold Brownsword.
Profile: A member of the NSA. 1935 lived in Durban, later in Johannesburg. In 1949 he was living in the Cape, then returned to Johannesburg. Travelled in England and the Netherlands; in 1954 he made an extensive tour of Europe. During the 1940's married to Elise Laidler.
