Kobus Louw was born in 1933 to parents who were both teachers, and has lived in the Cape for most of his life.

Kobus is a self-taught artist who has had an interest in painting since childhood.

Kobus Louw was born in 1933 to parents who were both teachers, and has lived in the Cape for most of his life.

Kobus is a self-taught artist who has had an interest in painting since childhood.

Since 1964 he has had 12 solo Exhibitions and has participated in many group exhibitions as well.

Some of his exhibitions were in Cape town, Stellenbosch, Paarl, George and East London.

Kobus paints mainly in oils and his subjects are of Cape scenes such as Coastal villages, Cottages, Fishermen, Street Scenes, Malay Quarters and Winelands amongst others.

Since his retirement from business in 1992 he has devoted all his time to his love of painting.
